With its unique concept and design, the State Museum of Westphalia is one of the most modern archaeological museums in Europe.
In the underground exhibition hall, a so-called excavation landscape has been built, modelled on an archaeological excavation. It tells the story of the people in Westphalia just as it reveals itself to archaeologists directly in the ground – from the first traces 250,000 years ago to the present day.
As part of the special exhibition “Hilm Böckmann – Retrospective”, Mila-wall modular walls 2.5 m, 3 m and 3.5 m high were combined to create an attractive interior. These temporary exhibition spaces formed the basis for an impressive demonstration of reverberation reduction with acoustic walls from the Mila-wall Acoustic series. In a simulation by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (Fraunhofer IBP), standard Mila-wall modular walls were compared with Mila-wall Acoustic. The sound reduction is clearly audible.
